Anapat Wongkumjan

Hello! My name is Anapat Wongkumjan, I’m 22 years old and am currently in my third year of Marine Technology. I am currently the Project Manager and am responsible for leading Njord.

Why did you join Njord?

Ever since I started at NTNU I’ve always wanted to engage myself in student activities. Some of my previous volunteer positions were mostly social and for fun, so I wanted to challenge myself with something different and experience new things. That’s why I couldn’t pass the opportunity to join Njord! Last year I started at Njord as Deputy Project Manager, and couldn’t let go of Njord, so I applied for the Project Manager position.

What is your role in Njord?

My responsibilities in Njord as Project Manager include following up members, particularly the board. I oversee day to day operations and at the same time try to plan long term for the organization! During the week there is a lot of variation in tasks, where one day I might lead a workshop with our members, and on another I might have a meeting with some of our sponsors or mentors. Some days I help out with some of our members' tasks too. My main responsibility is to facilitate effective communication and cooperation between groups, and make sure everyone has what they need to do their tasks.

What is it like being a part of Njord?

It's very fun! Being a part of the event from start to finish and seeing how it turns out is rewarding. We always try to think outside of the box and come up with new ideas on how to work to achieve our goals. In addition to the learning benefits, we also have a lot of fun during social gatherings, both digitally and physically. Since we don’t have too many members, you get to know everyone well.

Why do you think others should join?

Being a part of Njord helps you grow both as a person and in experience. You will also be able to work with industry-leading companies and other motivated students. In addition, you will be a part of a rapidly growing student organisation. I can only recommend everyone to JOIN!
