Description

The lead naval architect is responsible for the finalisation of the hull design - from design, simulation, and component integration, to the final product. Your job is to lead the naval architecture team and provide technical guidance in the process, as well as keep the board informed. A deep understanding of mechanics, CAD/CAM, production technology (see TPK4190), and boat design is essential, alongside a fundamental understanding of fluid mechanics and electronics. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design (CAD/CAM), simulation (CFD/FEA), and production phases of chassis development 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the electrical and software teams
  • provide an introduction to parts of the development process foreign for new members
  • Provide theory-specific guidance in the design process
  • Collaborate with industry-relevant sponsors in the production process
