We are approaching the first edition of Njord - The Autonomous Ship Challenge! We in Njord are looking very much forward to kick-off the event next Wednesday, and we hope you are as excited as we are. We have already received the teams’ technical reports, and the jury has begun the evaluation, which constitutes one-fourth of the Challenge’s assessment basis.
The event will be live-streamed in its entirety with commentators from Njord and guest commentators from the jury consisting of representatives from several industry-leading companies.
On Wednesday, after the live streamed competition program, we are hosting an ‘Inspirational talks’ event with our sponsors Kongsberg Maritime, Autoship, Zeabuz and NTNU. The event will be at Havet Arena in Trondheim and will also be streamed live. In the inspirational talk, we will learn more about the latest developments within marine autonomy. Øyvind Smogeli will shed light on how Zeabuz and NTNU are working to accelerate development by developing a purpose-built simulation platform for autonomous vessels, and how it can help build trust amongst the general public.
Kongsberg Maritime and Autoship, represented by Morten Skogvold, will offer a deeper insight into some of the emerging technologies within marine autonomy. In addition to this, we will hear about how KM and Autoship are approaching the challenges of marine autonomy, and how they envision the future of the industry.

We hope to see you there!
